Younger Generation "Nones" Need Attention

Recently, the Pew Research Center released a large set of findings that detailed something unprecedented in history. The most shocking line was only the second sentence read.

“Nones” on the Rise
One-in-Five Adults Have No Religious Affiliation
That one line describing the surge of those without religious affiliation and their connection with the rest of the population reveals a grand amount of our current world and the strength of this issue. If there's one part of this study that I expected, but was still most inspired by, it was this.

Why do Atheists care about God? Answered.

Personal Response

Why do atheists care about god? Why do firemen care about people trapped in burning buildings?

Why should a fellow member of our species care about another’s thoughts, feelings, and actions? Not only will they affect us, affect others, but they could affect the person themselves.  I am an atheist and speak of  it loudly not because I care more about myself, but because I care about the well-being and education of other people. I am an atheist because it also strengthens me in knowledge on life, people, and a multitude of all things in this world. I am an atheist because I do search and seek for a god, and when results come back negative, I share them with others so they too can learn and grow, and I can with them. I am an atheist because I believe that the truth should be heard, and lies and deceit should not riddle our society any longer. I am an atheist because the world I live in is not, and this is something I intend to change.

Why do atheists care about god? Because it’s the greatest question of all? Because it determines everything else?

I do, because I care about people. I have seen what religion does to individuals and society. Being an atheist, reaching such an understanding, and sharing it with all hits the highest epiphany of human nature. The greatest act that can be conceived and carried through by man.

Compassion.

And because of that, I am proud.

A somewhat known Catholic, anti-atheist blogger Sacerdotus had recently posted an article titled "Why do Atheists care about God?" Such a question has only shown up twice in debates I have conducted before. It almost seems like an obvious question, but since we're dealing with theism here, I decided to think about it myself and write (one of) my personal answer(s) down. It may or not be able to be viewed, also, on the Sacerdotus website.

What makes you an atheist or agnostic or what you are? And why do you care about a god?
